Things To Do
Brunswick, MD is a historic railroad town with a charming downtown shopping area and quaint
eateries. The Railroad Museum features an interactive HO-model railroad which replicates the B&O mainline subdivision from Washington, DC Union Station to Brunswick.
Just on the other side of the railroad tracks the C&O Canal towpath winds its way from Georgetown in Washington, DC towards Harpers Ferry, WV, Shepherdstown and on to Cumberland, MD where it connects with the Great Allegheny Passage that ends in Pittsburgh, PA.
Boaters and kayakers will find access to the Potomac River at the boat ramp under the bridge or at the
Brunswick campground located on the banks of the Potomac, just a mile away on the towpath. Nearby outfitters provide rafting and boating equipment, guides or group trips.
The Appalachian Trail, hiking trails and a youth hostel are just a few miles away.
Maryland and Virginia vinyards and wineries offer visits and entertainment.
